The Holiday Weekend

So, I am finally moving out of my parents' house. When I say finally, I don't mean that I've just been dying to get out on my own and away from my parents. I love my parents. They are seriously probably some of the best in the world. They don't even want me to move out at least until I finish grad school, because I'll "have too much to worry about." See? They love me. They've never been annoying except maybe when I was in high school, and I was supposed to be a 4.0 student. I hated that then, but now it's the reason I'm where I'm at in life. So anyway, I got a 1-bedroom apartment in West Point, GA. It's probably less than 2 miles from where I work, so thats going to be really nice. It even has a washer and dryer inside the apartment! While that probably doesn't matter to most people, it's a big deal to me. The apartment is not taj mahal, but it's going to be perfect me for me. The rooms are just the right size for the amount of furniture I have. So far I have plenty of dishes. I don't have many cooking things, but I don't really know how to cook. :) My kitchen has a dishwasher too, but I prefer to hand wash. It seems to be quicker to me. It's not like I'll have a lot to wash anyway. My daddy bought me a new microwave on Saturday, and I bought myself a small toaster. I was able to take a spare kitchen table that my parents had to my apartment, so I've got that covered too. Last night, my daddy bought a table lamp, floor lamp and swag lamp for my living room (which has no light fixtures!). He also bought a ceiling fan for my bedroom. My parents are donating a spare recliner they have that's in really good condition. My aunt and uncle are donating a love seat for the living room as well. I inherited a nice bedroom suite from my grandmother, so I'm covered there. I had the water and power turned on Friday, so I was able to clean all the dishes I've taken up there so far. They had been in the attic for a while, so who knows what they had been through. Next Sunday, my aunt and cousin are throwing a house warming party for me. I'm so excited!!! My cousin made a blog wish list for me to update and everyone's invitation will have the url on it so they can view the list as well. Well, that's all for now. Hopefully I'll be moving in next weekend! My cable & internet are supposed to be set up on Wednesday. I should have my landline phone by then too. Thank God I work for a phone/data/cable company. Free phone and nice discounts on the other!! :)

Oh yeah, one more thing definitely worth mentioning. I finally attended a Braves game where they beat the stupid Mets! :) Thursday night, my mom, bf from work and husband, and I went to the Braves game. We got to see Smoltz get his 200th win. That was awesome by itself. I had to warn the people I went with how Mets fans act. They are obnoxious as everything, and they are always surrouding you! Yep, they were all around us at the game. Chanting very obnoxiously even though they were nevering ahead. They sure did leave quickly after the game ended. :) It was so awesome. I have a great dislike for David Wright. He struck out all 3 at bats Thursday night. The first time Smoltz struck him out, he threw his batting helmet like a little 5 year old. Well, that set off our entire section, since we're right behind the visitor's dugout. I know I had my fair share of not so nice words shouted at him. :) Everytime he got up to bat, our whole section just went nuts making fun of him. Gotta love it! :)
